Join the Sinfonia of Birmingham at its next concert, on Sunday 4th March 2012 at the CBSO Centre in Birmingham.
The concert starts with Stravinsky's charming Dumbarton Oaks, written in almost classical style for a small chamber orchestra.  It has all the hallmarks of his clever techniques, with added humour and a hint of jazz.
It then continues with Prokofiev's second Violin Concerto, with the CBSO's Zoë Beyers.  This will be Zoë's first appearance with the Sinfonia.
The Swan of Tuonela by Sibelius follows, with its haunting and mystical cor anglais solo.
The concert finishes with Nielsen's Symphony No. 1, with its very obviously Danish atmosphere and tunes.
An exciting concert!
